Branch member, Dr. Winifred Creamer,
presented: “Where IS Everybody?
Finding the Pyramid Builders of Peru.” Winifred, who is a Professor of Anthropology at
Northern Illinois University, discussed her current work excavating around
the great mounds which were built between 3000 -1800 BC along the coast of
Peru. “Winifred’s
presentation was amazing,” according to Marilyn Mayer
Wiedemann. “Winifred is always fabulous—able
to make us excited over “all that brown” as she would call
it. And she even linked her work to AAUW’s mission in a most
appropriate way.” |

serves as Circuit Court Judge, 18th Judicial Circuit, Wheaton, presented her
“View from the Bench”.
She spoke on women in the law and her experiences in Family
Court. “Bonnie
is great role model for any woman thinking of a career in the law. She began
her career when women were not easily accepted as lawyers let alone
judges. Throughout her career, she has
mentored other women to make the path a little easier for them.” -- Program attendee, Jane Palmer. |
